Malaysia has seen a sharp increase in interest in the social enterprise and investing sector in the past year, which has led to the proliferation of many competitions, awards and buzz about fund set-up.Much of this was spurred on by government agencies, including the establishment of the social enterprise arm of MaGIC. Many different government bodies have started taking interest in venture philanthropy, impact investing and other innovative ways to approach social issues.
This session will discuss how the different stakeholders have played a part in building up the eco-system in Malaysia, looking through the lens of the government, corporate foundations, social enterprises and the role of multi-sector collaboration.
