Lara Setrakian is the Co-Founder and CEO of News Deeply. She spent more than five years as a foreign correspondent covering the Middle East, reporting for ABC News and Bloomberg Television. Since 2012 she has focused on the fusion of news and technology, launching News Deeply’s first platform, Syria Deeply, to wide acclaim. TIME Magazine dubbed the startup “The Future of News,” while Fast Company said it “outsmarts the news business, redefines crisis coverage.” Fast Company went on to name Setrakian #20 on its list of the 100 Most Creative People in Business, while Inc. Magazine declared her one of the “8 Women Who Could Own the Future.” News Deeply’s work was honored with the National Press Foundation’s Excellence in Online Journalism Award in 2013.
Lara is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University.
