Joanna la’O is the Program Manager of the Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) which operates the largest food service network in the Philippines. She manages the Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP) which aims to help smallholder farmers improve their income by training them in agro-enterprise development, linking them to financing institutions, and marketing their produce to institutional
buyers like JFC. The program has received national and international recognition as a prime example of linking smallholder farmers to corporate value chains.
Ms. la’O has over a decade of experience in the development field. Prior to joining JGF in 2009, Ms. la’O was with the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation, where she helped foster and promote the work of transformative leaders all over Asia. When the Philippines hosted APEC in 2015, Ms. la’O served as the Director for Program Development and Speaker Management of the APEC 2015 CEO Summit, which is considered the premier business event in the Asia Pacific.
Ms. la’O graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in BS Computer Science.
